PONO Pacific and PAR Hawaii Partnering To Develop Camelina On Local Farms

Oil from camelina seeds grown in Hawaii can make sustainable aviation fuel.

This crop is intended to produce plant-based oil, which will be converted into renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel.

Researchers estimate that camelina-based jet fuel can reduce net carbon emissions by approximately 80 percent.
